How often can you buy a piece of furniture that is truly sustainable, made from 100% reclaimed materials and is locally made? Struggling for an example? I thought as much!
How about our new 100% reclaimed range at Unbearable Design! Made from reclaimed apple crates and used scaffolding boards, our new multipurpose storage unit is a prime example of how awesome furniture can be achieved with a little thought and effort!
What did we have to do? Well, not a lot really! The wood is wire brushed to remove any contaminants and dirt. We then lightly sand all the wood to raise the grain and bring out the natural character. In some instances, we might reinforce a few joints with some new nail and grind back a few sharpe edge and that's it! All this is then finished with a generous layer of interior varnish, giving the wood the protection it needs.
Each unit has tons of character and a range of uses, from a bathroom towel store, or maybe a bedside cabinet? or even a display unit for a shop, whatever you use it for, it will be helping the environment - and get this, the storage unit if fully recyclable!
